GARDEN DESIGN

Tabi design gardens to be lived in. Gardens that are soulful, atmospheric and sensitive to the landscape they are a part of.

A client-led and collaborative approach to design finds us working in a variety of different settings - from historic houses and art galleries to architect-led new builds, Miyawaki forests and nature-filled family gardens. The thread that runs through these designs is one which quietly rejoices in the changing faces of a garden throughout the year and across the decades.

Imaginative and endlessly creative, we approach every brief with fresh eyes and energy; tapping into the stories and history of a landscape, house and it’s geography to create elegant and enduring gardens that stand the test of time.

“MY ONCE NEGLECTED GARDEN IS NOW BRIMMING WITH BEAUTIFUL PLANTS, FLOWERS AND TREES. IT IS WITHOUT DOUBT MY FAVOURITE PART OF THE HOUSE.”

collaboration

Collaboration is a constant theme in Tabi’s work. Design partners regularly include landscape consultants, ecologists and other experts who can help contribute to a design, installation and helping our client’s gardens thrive.

Tabi is often introduced to clients through interior designers: a focus on creating harmony between inside and out is a constant them in our work. We design spaces that encourage people to enjoy the brilliant benefits of spending time in nature and understand that to achieve this we have to understand our clients and their lives.

Tabi enjoys spending valuable time with clients and although we sometimes bring other people in to help with elements of the design, she always runs each project herself.

“Tabi designed an informal garden that reflects the rural location of the Milking Parlour through organic shapes, colours and textures. We could not be more delighted”

our approach

Tabi is based in Wiltshire and works across the South West and London - and further afield on occasion. We undertake projects ranging from family gardens to rural art galleries and country homes.

We prefer to work on projects with longevity in mind, collaborating with our clients and their gardeners to develop new environments and enhance existing landscapes. We take a creative, hands on approach to aftercare to ensure these spaces can evolve and flourish for years to come.

Tabi regularly reflects on and explores her practice through writing. As a frequent contributor to the Financial Times and House and Garden, Tabi covers topics ranging from arboriculture and garden design to natural pools and soil health, and is extremely focused on making a positive contribution to the garden design industry - and the wider cultural conversation.

them outdoors

In 2025, Tabi founded Them Outdoors: a new home for design-led garden furniture, sculpture and planters, made by artists, designers and craftspeople in the UK.

Them Outdoors’ aim is to cast garden furniture in a new light, and introduce anyone with an interest in the design of outdoor spaces; garden owners, curators, collectors, interior designers, garden designers and so forth – to new materials, processes and makers who’s work can spark conversations, quietly challenge preconceptions, or simply bring more beauty to a garden of any style or size

Much has been made of the recent craft revival, as well as the increasingly blurred boundaries between art, craft and furniture. It is Tabi’s belief that outdoor furniture and art have an important role to play in this cultural sea change.
