Berdoulat, bath - spring window installation
In March 2024 Tabi was invited to take over the windows of the wonderful Berdoulat in Bath. This was a real honour as Tabi has long been a fan of Berdoulat, an interior design practice who’s work focuses on restoring period buildings across the UK. Their home and shop in Bath is full of wonderful crafts, art and homeware pieces.
Creating a spring installation of pear trees, myrtle, bronze fennel, eucalyptus, rosemary and nepeta, the display was designed with texture and form in mind. Deep greens and silvers suited the period building setting and the beautiful natural light that gently illuminates the shop.
The planters and sculpture featured in the display are available through Them Outdoors, a new furniture and sculpture platform set up by Tabi in 2024.
The cleft oak planters were co-designed by Tabi and Jack Ritson, a forester from Westonbirt Arboretum. The large shell planters by Mel Campion were commissioned exclusively for the new platform, and last but not least the bronze mobiles in the windows are by Suffolk-based artist Alice Andrea Ewing.
